Description
This is a two figure lot commemorating arguably the most famous American badmen of the Old West, Frank and Jesse James. Alexander Franklin James (born January 10th, 1843 /died February 18th, 1915) and Jesse Woodson James (born September 5th, 1847/ died April 3rd, 1882) fought during the Civil War on the side of the Confederate Army. The James brothers fought as guerillas under Confederate guerilla leaders William Quantrill and "Bloody Bill" Anderson. The James Brothers would later form an outlaw group with the Younger Brothers (Cole, Bob, Jim, and John). The group was known as the James / Younger Gang. Jesse (James) and Cole (Younger) both claimed to be the leader of the gang. The group were well known as train and bank robbers. They felt they were getting reperations for the Civil War. The downfall of the gang was the Northfield, Minnesota raid in which the gang tried to rob the First National Bank of Northfield, Minnesota. The gang was thwarted when a quick thinking cashier told the outlaws the bank had a time lock, delaying the robbery. The townfolk realized what was going on and they had a lot of shooters ready. The gang was decimated. Two of the gang members were killed while the rest were wounded in the shootout. The militia caught up with the Younger Brothers and gang member Charlie Pitts. Pitts was killed and the Youngers captured in a shootout. Frank and Jesse James got away to continue there criminal careers. The Youngers went to prison where Bob died. Jesse was killed years later in his home by a former gang member as he was straightening a picture. Frank would turn himself in and go to prison. After they were released from prison Frank James and Cole Younger would tour the country with their Wild West Show. There have been several books and movies about the James / Younger Gang over the years. The James Brothers were two of the most famous people of the old West. PLEASE NOTE-while this figure lot does not look exactly like The James Brothers, there is a bit of a resemblance. also NOTE- there are some black marks on Jesse'e right hand. Also, the holsters and Frank's gunbelt are custom made- The metal six guns are by stevos. sold as is. This figure lot is designed mostly for the history or western fan and not for play. fairly poseable. stands included. Please note the following -when a figure is a custom figure that means it is not a licensed product,or "official" but something the customizer did by combining figures and accessories from different makers and toy releases to come up with the custom figure or figures. I started customizing figures a few years back because I couldn't find more than a handful of "official" releases and unable to find figures of people I wanted to collect. I checked in to the market of custom figures. Most of the custom figures available back then cost several hundred dollars, so, I started doing my own. Because I needed to support my new hobby, I started selling some custom figures. My prices reflect my acquisition cost, time involved, and some profit. Thanks for the look, have fun shopping! Shipping and Handling as follows: Domestic-priority mail $25.00 1st item, $10.00 each additional item. items are normally shipped out within a day or two of cleared payment.
