Up for sale is a Lynne & Michael Roche Artist Doll . Made in England. This is Thomas as Pirate from 2002. A Limited edition of only 15 ever made and this is # 2. He is 16" tall.He has a bisque head and hands, stuffed cloth body and jointed head and limbs. He is able to stand on his own. Thomas has brown glass eyes, shoulder-length black hair, wearing a white ruffled shirt, khaki breeches, red and white sash, blue long brocade coat with brass buttons, red printed headscarf, black eye-patch, red socks, black leather boots and is carrying a golden sword with a red ribbon and stone on the hilt and a felt flask marked " Rum". He also has his original signed wrist tag and is signed on the back of his head. A darling Rare doll in Excellent Condition.Lynne creates the dolls, hand paints them and dresses them using vintage fabrics and hand-dyed fabrics and wools plus hand-knitted wool .She embellishes the look with hand embroidery and appliques. Michael hand carves all the lime wood bodies and makes the moulds. Their dolls are loved worldwide and were made in small limited editions. They do not make production dolls anymore, just special dolls for Spring and Christmas, so the precious few they did make have become highly sought after Treasures.
